Kardamena, located around 24 km from Kos town, is one of busiest tourist resorts on the island.
Around the port there are many cafes, restaurants, bars and taverns as well as a huge variety of shops, where you will find anything you wish!
The majority of tourists are of young ages, who try to ‘refill their batteries’ in sight of their winter responsibilities.
The place looks ideal for this purpose as it blends quality entertainment with fantastic beaches, where swimming becomes a real enjoyment.
For those who seek action, there is a large selection of water sports and for the sightseeing lovers there is more than enough for someone to see in Kardamena, whose ancient name was Alassarna.
Apollo’s temple, ancient Christian royal Churches and the ancient theatre are only some of them.
The accommodation infrastructure in the village is excellent and addressed to different income levels.
From its port the guests can take the boat for a short excursion to the neighbour Nisyros.
There they can admire the volcano’s crater and also the cyclopean walls, where the archaeological excavations have brought into light findings showing a flourishing culture even from Neolithic times.
